Reviews about The Cheesecake Shop Springfield
- 1 / 5By Michael WhiteUsed to LOVE going to the Cheesecake Shop for cheesecake. Like ... seriously love it. Every time I passed one of their stores I would literally have to stop and fight the urge to go in and get something.
Those days have since passed. As a rude birthday awakening, I discovered that they've done a complete overhaul of their selection. No more Tangy Lemon Cheesecake or Passionfruit Cheesecake. Instead, when I ask for half a lemon cheesecake and half a passionfruit cheesecake, what I am presented with is half of something called a Citron Glaze Cheesecake that tastes IDENTICAL to the White Wings boxed-mix lemon cheesecakes that Woolworths and Coles used to sell for a fifth of the price, and half of a Tropical Passionfruit cheesecake that, frankly, has a fifth of the passionfruit taste that the previous passionfruit cheesecakes they used to make had.
So essentially, what they've done is jack up the price of the cheesecakes by about $7 (at least for the one I ended up with) but used a little bit of the company profit to purchase cheap-as, dodgey goddamn ingredients to make the blandest, cheapest cheesecakes they can so they can pocket the extra.
I was happy paying $27 for my Tangy Lemon or my Passionfruit Cheesecakes. They were worth it. But why should anyone be expected to pay $35 (on average) for the crap that they're selling now?
That said. If you're a smoker that's dedicated your life to ruining your sense of taste, or you just like bland desserts, then pretend I gave the place a 5 star rating and go right on in and get yourself something. The only two ways they'll stay in business at this point are either by going back to the good stuff that was worth what they charge, or depending on the people who just don't care about quality and like wasting their money on junk to keep funding their poor business decisions.April 06, 2017
